Following the club’s announcement of a ‘Golden Share’, we spoke to the SA Chair, Loyd Briscoe, who had the following to say.
“I was pleased to receive notification from the club advising of the gifting a ‘Golden Share’ to the SA.
From my perspective, this initiative aligns precisely with Recommendation 28 of the government-backed ‘Fan-Led Review of Football Governance”, which was published last November.
Stevenage FC is a key part of the heritage and culture of our town, and the added protection afforded by the value of a Golden Share does much to enhance this point of view. On behalf of the Executive of the SA, I very much welcome this gesture.”
